Reshaping Next-Gen AI Computing: AHOKU Secures the 2027 Taiwan Excellence Award with its Innovative Hierarchical Modular Power Architecture — Omni Power Orchestrator
Taipei — As generative AI models and LLM computing demands experience explosive growth, the long construction cycles and high Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operating Expense (OPEX) of traditional physical data centers can no longer meet global tech giants' urgent need for rapid computing scale-up. Integrating servers, high-density power, liquid cooling systems, and monitoring equipment into standard ISO shipping containers—known as the Containerized AI Data Center—has emerged as a key solution for next-generation AI computing infrastructure.
However, severely limited interior space within containers, surging high-density rack thermal resistance, and soaring electrical loads present unprecedented challenges to internal power distribution and real-time monitoring.
AHOKU Electronic Co., Ltd. has announced that its award-winning Omni Power Orchestrator / Smart PDU Series (recognized with the 2027 Taiwan Excellence Award) has broken down the "power information silos" in AI data centers, successfully extending its application scope to containerized modular data centers.
Core Pain Points in Containerized AI Server Rooms: Space, Cost, and Cooling
Containerized AI data centers advocate for "Plug-and-Play" and high-density deployment, requiring hundreds to thousands of kilowatts (kW) of computing power to be packed into limited spaces. Traditional smart PDUs face three major bottlenecks in such edge and modular scenarios:
1. Interior Space Occupation: Power metering modules and LCD panels stacked on traditional smart PDUs crowd out valuable cabling and airflow channel space inside the container.
2. Extreme Environment Maintenance Challenges: Containerized data centers are frequently deployed outdoors, at edge sites, or alongside renewable energy power plants. If equipment fails due to overheating, manual on-site maintenance costs are exorbitant.
3. Information Silos and Multi-System Integration Hurdles: Containers simultaneously house coolant distribution units (CDUs), UPS systems, environmental sensors, and AI servers, making real-time coordination across the entire district's power system difficult.
Omni Power Orchestrator: Key Advantages Built for Containerized AI Computing Facilities
AHOKU has introduced an innovative Hierarchical Modular Architecture to provide comprehensive power and operational control upgrades for containerized AI data centers:
• Ultra-Lean Hardware to Substantially Free Up Interior Space
The Omni Power Orchestrator strips away high-cost computing units and environmental sensing functions (temperature, humidity, liquid leakage, access control) from traditional PDUs for centralized management. Front-end smart PDUs retain only high-precision data acquisition capabilities and adopt IEC 4-in-1 composite sockets, eliminating redundant hardware configurations while further optimizing cooling airflow and cable layouts inside the container.
• Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and Unattended Operation
For containerized server rooms deployed at remote or edge nodes, IT and facility management teams do not need to visit the site in person. Through ZTP technology, once containers are deployed and powered on, settings are automatically configured via the single visual interface of the Omni Power Orchestrator, realizing cross-region, multi-container remote centralized management and real-time power allocation.
• Significant Reduction in CAPEX/OPEX to Implement ESG Low-Carbon Footprints
By eliminating the need to repeatedly configure high-cost Intelligent Power Meters on every PDU, the solution directly lowers the procurement threshold for large-scale container deployments. Meanwhile, the streamlined hardware design reduces electronic waste (E-waste) generation. Combined with real-time dynamic power optimization, it pushes the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of containerized AI server rooms to their limits, achieving the triple goals of "high performance, low cost, and low carbon emissions."
Looking Ahead: Empowering Flexible and Sustainable AI Computing Infrastructure
AHOKU stated: "Containerized AI data centers represent the flexibility and future of computing power deployment. The Omni Power Orchestrator solution not only shatters the boundaries of traditional PDUs but also strikes an optimal balance among rapid deployment, extreme performance, and environmental sustainability. Moving forward, AHOKU will continue to deeply cultivate the modular data center market, assisting global customers in rapidly rolling out next-generation AI infrastructure."
